The MicroFlex e190 is a compact, high-performance AC servo drive series designed for motion control applications requiring Ethernet connectivity and advanced functionality. Each MicroFlex e190 drive supports single or three-phase input up to 240 VAC and can deliver precise control to servo motors, with models ranging in continuous output current to drive motors from a few hundred watts up to ~2 kW. These drives feature flexible Ethernet-based communications – including EtherCAT, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, and POWERLINK – selectable via onboard switches, allowing easy integration into modern networks. The e190 drives utilize high-resolution feedback (absolute encoder interfaces supporting EnDat, BiSS, SSI, resolver, etc.) and dual encoder inputs, enabling dual-loop control for eliminating mechanical backlash and line-shaft following applications. With overload capability of 200% for 3 s (and up to 300% peak for 0.5 s), they provide excellent dynamic performance for fast accelerations. Built-in Safe Torque Off (STO, SIL3 PLe) is standard for safety-critical applications. The MicroFlex e190 includes configurable digital/analog I/O for limit switches, home sensor, analog reference, etc., and is programmable via ABB's Mint WorkBench for standalone intelligent drive control. Housed in a slim IP20 chassis, the drive mounts easily in control panels and operates from 0 °C to +50 °C ambient. Overall, the MicroFlex e190 series provides high-performance motion control with minimal footprint – ideal for packaging machines, material handling robots, CNC, and general automation requiring fast, accurate servo control.
